Abstract
This study will elaborate on the application and significance of educational technology in teaching cross-cultural communication and how it can promote the improvement of cross-cultural understanding and communicative competence. With globalization acceleration, cross-cultural communication has become an integral part of education. It was also found that educational technology offered new teaching methods, broke through time and space limitations, and promoted diversification in content and methods of teaching. The paper sorts out, first of all, the definition, development, and role of educational technology in cross-cultural teaching and then discusses the basic concepts of cross-cultural communication and challenges faced by its teaching. This paper analyzes the application of education technology tools like virtual reality, online learning platforms, and artificial intelligence in cross-cultural communication teaching and tries to show how these technologies raise the adaptability of students to different cultures and the interactivity and immersion degree during teaching. In that context, it has been shown that educational technology not only optimizes the effect of cross-cultural teaching but also helps cultural understanding and interaction with more motivation for globalized education. This paper summarizes the practical value of educational technology in cross-cultural communication teaching and discusses the future research direction.
