Abstract
This study aims to explore the challenges posed by AI-enabled self-directed learning models to traditional classrooms in the digital education era. Adopting the methods of literature review, case analysis and comparative research, the study first combs the core connotation and operational characteristics of AI-enabled self-directed learning, then compares the differences between this model and the traditional classroom teaching model, and finally analyzes the specific challenges of the former to the latter from the perspectives of teaching concepts, teaching methods, teacher-student roles and teaching evaluation. The results show that AI-enabled self-directed learning has brought profound impacts on traditional classrooms, requiring the transformation of teaching concepts, the innovation of teaching methods and the reconstruction of teacher-student roles to adapt to the new educational pattern. This study provides theoretical reference and practical enlightenment for the reform and development of traditional classroom teaching under the background of AI education.
