Abstract
This study uses inter-provincial panel data from the China Statistical Yearbook 2007-2020 to conduct research, in which the relationship between rural labor force, industrial structure, and the urban-rural income gap is examined using the Spatial Durbin Panel Model (SDPM). Through a series of studies, it is found that, first, the free movement of rural labor is able to significantly reduce the urban-rural income gap. Second, the coupling between labor mobility and industrial structure upgrading helps to reduce the urban-rural income gap. These conclusions are verified in the robustness test.
