          Abstract
With the ongoing deepening of globalization, the exchange of Eastern and Western dramatic literature has gradually become a pivotal pathway for fostering cultural symbiosis and innovation. Within multifaceted social contexts and under the influence of intense cultural dynamics, the obstacles encountered in the process of literary exchange have become increasingly prominent. A thorough analysis of the roots, manifestations, and mechanisms of these obstacles facilitates a more nuanced understanding of the complexities inherent in the interactions of Eastern and Western dramatic literature within diverse cultural contexts, as well as the possible pathways to overcome these barriers. Across multilayered, interdisciplinary literary exchanges and collaborations, playwrights, scholars, and cultural institutions collectively drive the deepening of cross-cultural understanding, even as they confront persistent challenges such as cultural contextual differences, difficulties in translation, and limitations in dissemination mechanisms.
