Abstract

Guan Yu is one of the most representative classic symbolic characters in traditional Chinese culture, and his image has been changing over the centuries as we can see from the historical materials. In the beginning, he was just a real general in the history of Shu Han, because of his loyalty and righteousness as the principle of the world, brave and courageous heroism, as well as the benevolence of the heart of the people and adhere to the bottom line of the concept of justice. And slowly became a folk legend, and in later generations of people worship and respect formed a stable folk beliefs. Nowadays, a lot of designers like to use Guan Gong cultural elements to design, whether it is clothing design or the development of cultural and creative derivatives can be seen in the relevant visual symbols. From the perspective of long-term development of the industry, the integration of Guan Gong culture and modern art and design will continue to expand the dimensions, and in the future will give rise to richer forms of creative expression, and continue to provide strong support for the modern expression of excellent traditional Chinese culture, inheritance and innovation.
