Abstract
Under the national strategy of "Fostering Virtue and Talent" and the guidance of macro educational philosophies, higher engineering education must organically integrate value cultivation into professional teaching. This study addresses a critical gap by focusing specifically on rail transit education, a field requiring professionals with both technical excellence and strong societal values. Through qualitative analysis of literature, we developed a three-dimensional integration framework and implemented it in core rail transit courses. The pathways included revising content to link technical knowledge with broader contexts, employing project-based learning and industry expert lectures, and organizing field trips as immersive experiences. Results demonstrated that pedagogical and contextual approaches were particularly effective in fostering professional identity and social responsibility, though challenges included faculty readiness and curriculum constraints. The study concludes that a systematic, multi-dimensional approach can effectively bridge skill development and character cultivation in engineering education.
