Abstract
With the acceleration of globalization and the growing emphasis on the internationalization of higher education, cultivating international talent has become a key focus of college English teaching reform. Drawing on theories of intercultural communicative competence and global competence, this study employs questionnaires, case studies, and comparative analysis to examine current challenges in English teaching. It proposes an optimized model featuring internationalized curricula, diversified pedagogy, and globally competent faculty development. The findings indicate that integrating approaches such as CLIL and POA significantly enhances students’ intercultural understanding and international communication skills. This research provides valuable insights for reforming English education and guiding international talent cultivation in Chinese universities.
