Abstract
The exponential growth of information has made critical thinking an essential competency for university students. The 5E instructional model, with its student-centered approach that emphasizes active participation and inquiry, can transform the traditional teacher-dominated, passive learning paradigm, thereby stimulating students' learning motivation and creativity. This study focuses on how the 5E model facilitates the development of critical thinking in college English teaching. Through teaching practice, the model is implemented in English classrooms to shift the focus beyond mere language knowledge acquisition to the cultivation of students' comprehensive abilities.
