Abstract
Fundamentally distinct from corporal punishment, disciplinary action is a conventional educational and managerial tool in university education. Disciplinary power is the authority granted to higher education institutions (HEIs) and teachers to manage and educate students in accordance with the law. This power is not only a mandatory professional right for teachers but also a crucial safeguard for maintaining teaching order and protecting university students’ rights to education and academic freedom. The implementation of educational disciplinary power in HEIs must adhere to three principles: educationality, legality, and Democracy.
