Abstract
The "translation during listening", which has caused listening comprehension failure and low English proficiency among many higher vocational college students, has been rarely explored. This study, from the working memory perspective, analyzes the cause of this "translation" phenomenon and proposes a model with five strategies to help students remove the "translation" link and build direct sound-meaning mapping in English listening.
