Abstract
Cultivating students' intercultural communication competence (ICC) has emerged as a shared goal across global higher education sectors. Establishing a practical framework for intercultural pedagogy aligned with China’s sociocultural environment remains crucial. This investigation sought to construct a contextualized ICC model while assessing the competence levels of 334 participants from targeted universities. Empirical data were collected through a standardized assessment tool. Analysis revealed that participants demonstrated ICC proficiency at an advanced stage. The study concludes by proposing targeted recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of intercultural competence development in educational settings.
