Abstract
In the rapidly evolving landscape of information technology, traditional teaching approaches in the realm of Computer Networks have found themselves inadequate in meeting the demands for competencies in the new engineering disciplines. This paper delves into teaching reforms and practical explorations within the domain of Computer Networks by amalgamating the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) philosophy with Problem-Based Learning (PBL). By reimagining a student-centric, outcome-driven educational framework, the study designs a tiered project-based approach, implementing a blended teaching process encompassing “pre-class independent learning, in-class inquiry and practice, and post-class extension and deepening”, alongside the establishment of a diversified evaluation mechanism. Our findings indicate that the fusion of OBE and PBL has effectively elevated students’ competencies in knowledge application, practical innovation, and holistic competencies, thereby offering a replicable pathway for teaching reforms in computer-related courses.
