Research on Curriculum Teaching Resource Construction for Elderly Care Service Majors in Higher Vocational Education: A Case Study of Social Work Major

Abstract

Against the backdrop of population aging, the demand for elderly care service professionals has surged dramatically. However, curriculum teaching resources for elderly care service majors in higher vocational education face challenges including fragmentation, disconnection from industry needs, and insufficient digitalization. Taking the social work major at a STEM-oriented higher vocational institution as a case study, this paper systematically elaborates on the concepts, framework, and pathways for constructing curriculum teaching resources for elderly care service programs. The study develops a teaching resource system under the "One Core, Four Extensions" curriculum cluster framework, establishes a resource construction model characterized by "school-community collaboration, industry-education integration, and STEM empowerment," and creates four categories of teaching resources: textual, digital, practical, and value-oriented. Practice demonstrates that this resource system effectively improves the quality of talent cultivation and social service capacity, providing a replicable practical paradigm for curriculum teaching resource construction in elderly care service majors in higher vocational education.
